Legendary Author Geoff Hill Writing New Adventures With Zerofit Baselayers

Critically acclaimed author and award-winning travel and feature writer Geoff Hill has become the latest ambassador to join Zerofit, further cementing the brand’s growing reputation in the motorcycling world. 

The Northern Irishman - who has also been the motorcycle columnist for the Sunday Times, Irish Times and The Daily Mirror - will star in the brand’s forthcoming autumn/winter advertising campaigns alongside Bennetts British Superbikes athlete Glenn Irwin.

‘We are thrilled to have Geoff on board, he brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm and is clearly a wonderfully gifted storyteller and crucially, has experienced all sorts of baselayers on the market,’ said Michael Morton, Zerofit MD.

‘Geoff has travelled all over the world on two wheels, detailing his journeys in multiple books that have been much-loved and praised by bikers and non-bikers alike, as well as the media. We have plans of our own afoot for an incredibly special trip, which Geoff is integral to, and we are honored to have him as a brand ambassador,’ added Mr Morton.

Amongst a glittering bibliography, the 68-year-old was the author of Way to Go: Two of the World’s Great Motorcycle Journeys which showcased his trip from Belfast to Delhi on a Royal Enfield, and then across the US on the famous Route 66. Published in 2005, it was nominated for Travel Book of the Year.

The sequel - The Road to Gobblers Knob - was an instant best seller, highlighting Geoff’s journey from Chile to Alaska on the Pan-American Highway.

‘I've ridden motorbikes in everything from 51°C in the Baluchistan Desert on the way from Delhi to Belfast, to -40°C on a frozen lake in Mongolia, and Zerofit is by far the best of any of the baselayers I've worn,’ said Geoff.

In 2010, Geoff’s travels took him Down Under which were detailed in Oz: around Australia on a Triumph. In 2013, he penned In Clancy’s Boots, the story of Carl Stearns Clancy who circumnavigated the world on a motorcycle in 1912-13.

While possessing a passion for the written word, Geoff also excelled at volleyball, captaining the Northern Ireland team at the 1981 Commonwealth Championships - he represented his country on 122 occasions, which remains an Irish record. He joins Zerofit shareholder Brian O’Driscoll and fellow former Ireland and British & Irish Lions Captains as sporting royalty within the brand’s constitution.

Geoff is currently alternating between the Cold Skin and Ice Weave Baselayers on his travels in the hot summer months and will do the same between the Heatrub Ultimate and Move as fall and winter arrive in the US.
